Kuwait has officially lifted its 19-year-long visa ban on Pakistani nationals, marking a significant development in bilateral relations and employment opportunities.

Visa Resumption
The Kuwaiti government has resumed issuing work, family, visit, tourist, and commercial visas to Pakistani citizens, opening doors for employment, business, and tourism.

“All these visas can now be obtained through an online platform,” according to officials, highlighting global demand for skilled Pakistani workers.

International Employment Opportunities
Officials also confirmed that Italy will allocate an annual job quota for Pakistani workers, with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed to facilitate employment.

Additionally, Arab countries have expressed interest in hiring skilled professionals from Pakistan.

Healthcare Sector Expansion
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, announced plans to bring 1,200 Pakistani nurses to Kuwait to support its healthcare sector.

An initial group of 125 nurses was scheduled to arrive last week, but housing-related delays postponed their arrival. Special teams are working to resolve the issue, and the nurses are expected to arrive soon.

Visa Facilitation
Dr. Iqbal confirmed that Kuwaiti authorities have resumed issuing a wide range of visas to Pakistani nationals, including work, family visit, dependent, tourist, and commercial visas, starting this May.
