ACP’s Arts Alumni Festival Concludes, Showcasing Pakistan’s Artistic Talent

The Arts Alumni Festival 2025, organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, concluded with a vibrant celebration of artistic excellence and cultural diversity.

Festival Highlights
The final day featured a performance of Tennessee Williams’ play The Glass Menagerie, alongside a voice workshop led by Khalid Ahmed, focusing on public speaking, acting, teaching, and hosting.

Storytelling sessions & dance showcases, drawing large crowds

Students from the Dance Academy mesmerized audiences with cultural performances representing all four provinces of Pakistan. A special dance tribute honored Pakistani cinema’s golden era, while a unique interpretive performance on Mohenjo-Daro, choreographed by Mani Chao, received widespread acclaim.

Arts Council’s Vision
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah expressed pride in the enthusiastic participation of youth and the progress of the Council’s academies.

Shah reflected on the Council’s journey, recalling its modest beginnings and its transformation into Pakistan’s first dedicated art school, with young artists now showcased in major galleries.

He also highlighted the national and international recognition of the Council’s students, particularly in music and performing arts, noting their participation in festivals across Pakistan and abroad.

Dedication to Pakistan’s Martyrs
The festival was dedicated to Pakistan’s martyrs, celebrating the armed forces’ sacrifices, especially in wars with India.

Shah addressed past resistance to dance, emphasizing that dance is a complete art form and should not be restricted.

Grand Finale
The festival wrapped up with a rousing “Qawwali Fusion” performance by the Jambros Band, joined by fellow musicians, bringing the event to a colorful and soulful close.
