Pakistan Denounces Israeli Strikes! Calls for Immediate Action Against Aggression

The United Nations Security Council convened an emergency session on Friday to address Israel’s military strikes on Iran, which Pakistan described as a grave threat to regional peace and stability.

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, strongly condemned the Israeli attacks, calling them “unjustified and illegitimate”. He reaffirmed Islamabad’s solidarity with Iran, urging the Security Council to uphold international law and halt the aggression.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi requested the meeting, stating that Israel had crossed every red line and called for global action against the strikes. Pakistan, along with China and Russia, supported the request for the emergency session.

UN Under-Secretary-General Rosemary DiCarlo warned that the escalation could lead to a wider regional conflict, urging both Israel and Iran to exercise restraint. She noted that the crisis had disrupted planned US-Iranian diplomatic talks.

Meanwhile, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi emphasized that nuclear sites must never be targeted, warning of serious implications for nuclear security and international stability. He expressed readiness to travel to the region to assess the situation and support non-proliferation efforts.

The session underscored growing concerns over Middle East tensions, with calls for diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.
