Cricket Meets Patriotism
In a powerful tribute to national solidarity, Peshawar Zalmi has introduced a special "Pakistan Edition" green kit that will be worn in upcoming matches against Karachi Kings (May 17) and Lahore Qalandars (May 18) at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
This limited-edition kit, developed by Grip Active, symbolizes Zalmi’s unwavering commitment to national pride, sovereignty, and social impact.
Earlier this season, Zalmi launched three official kits under the Zalmi X Legacy collection:
-
Yellow for home games
-
Black for away games
-
Green for training sessions
Now, they introduce a fourth iconic kit — the Pakistan Edition Green Kit, not just as a jersey but as a salute to the bravery, service, and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi announced a PKR 50 million donation to the Pakistan Armed Forces and affirmed:
"The Zalmi Family proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s brave soldiers."
This green kit is not only visually distinct but also emotionally connects with fans across the nation. Social media has exploded in support of Zalmi’s move, with the team urging fans to wear green and show solidarity.
The Pakistan Edition proves that cricket can be a medium of patriotism and purpose. Peshawar Zalmi isn’t just playing in Rawalpindi; they are saluting the spirit of the nation, delivering a powerful message of unity, and celebrating the deep bond between sports and national pride.
Javed Afridi also highlighted that the return of international players to Pakistan is a testament to the country's peaceful and secure image, saying:
"Our international guests feel fully safe and protected here."
