Lahore Qalandars Clinch Third PSL Title with Record-Breaking Chase

Lahore Qalandars made history on Sunday by securing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X title with a record-breaking chase of 202 runs against Quetta Gladiators, winning with just one ball to spare. This marks the highest-ever successful run chase in a T20 final, surpassing the previous record of 200 runs, set by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) final.

Shaheen Afridi’s Historic Achievement
Captain Shaheen Afridi further cemented his legacy as the most successful captain in PSL history, leading Lahore Qalandars to their third PSL title. Afridi had previously guided the team to back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023, making him the only captain to win three PSL trophies.

Thrilling Final Moments
Sikandar Raza played a crucial role in sealing the victory, hitting the winning runs just minutes after arriving from England. His 22-run cameo, including two sixes and two fours, ensured Lahore’s triumph. Kusal Perera led the chase with an unbeaten 62 off 31 balls, while Mohammad Naeem (46) and Abdullah Shafique (41) provided solid contributions.

Quetta’s Strong Performance
Despite a brilliant 76-run knock from Hasan Nawaz, Quetta Gladiators fell short after posting 201-9. Faheem Ashraf’s late surge (28 off 8 balls) pushed Quetta past 200, but Lahore’s bowlers, led by Shaheen Afridi (3-24), kept the chase within reach.

Lahore Qalandars’ victory marks their third PSL title, solidifying their dominance in the league.
