Bangladesh Set to Tour Pakistan for Three-Match T20I Series

Bangladesh to Tour Pakistan for T20I Series After Successful Talks

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have officially confirmed Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan for a three-match T20I series following successful negotiations.

The agreement was finalized after a high-level meeting in Dubai between PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and BCB Chairman Nazmul Abedin, alongside BCB President Faruque Ahmed. Initially planned as a five-match series, the tour has been reduced to three matches due to logistical and security considerations.

Series Details

Bangladesh will play all three T20Is in Lahore, marking a significant moment for Pakistan’s international cricket calendar. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his appreciation for the BCB’s cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening cricketing ties between the two nations.

Bangladesh Squad Leadership

Experienced wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das will lead the Bangladesh squad, having been appointed as the T20I captain earlier this year. Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has been named vice-captain for both the UAE and Pakistan tours.

Background & Challenges

The series faced uncertainty due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as the mid-season postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Originally, Bangladesh was scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on May 21, with a five-match series set to begin on May 25 in Faisalabad. However, adjustments were made, and the revised schedule now places all matches in Lahore.

The PCB remains committed to hosting international cricket and ensuring smooth operations for the upcoming series.
