Virat Kohli-Backed World Bowling League Set to Launch in 2026 The World Bowling League (WBL), supported by Virat Kohli and baseball star Mookie Betts, will debut next year with six franchises competing in iconic locations.
League chief Adi K Mishra aims to revolutionize bowling, transforming it into a made-for-TV spectacle with celebrity franchise owners, exotic venues, and cutting-edge technology.
The WBL will feature teams of four—two male and two female bowlers. While professional bowlers will compete in the core sport, celebrities will participate in auxiliary events, adding entertainment value.
The league is finalizing franchises in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and India, with matches set to take place in Hudson Yards (New York), Marina Bay Sands (Singapore), Dubai, and India.
Kohli joined as a strategic investor, surprising Mishra with his long-time passion for bowling. The league plans to simplify scoring, integrate ball-tracking technology, and attract major broadcasters.
